Each day, make sure you have 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil in the form of olive oil, flaxseed oil, or the woman’s oil (a flaxseed oil-blackcurrant seed oil blend)
You need oil to lubricate your intestines, helping your colon more easily pass all waste products - and the toxins they carry - out of your body. Flaxseed oil and The Woman’s Oil will also provide you with a healthy source of the fat-burning omega-3s, to aid in weight loss from your detox diet. The Woman’s Oil contains blackcurrant seed oil, a source of the ‘good’ omega-6s fatty acids, which is also a natural weight-loss aid and terrific for beautiful skin.
Avoid The Following Detox Detractors
Learning how to detox your body naturally is all about avoiding certain foods during thr course of your detox:
excess fat, especially trans fats from margarine and processed and fried foods
sugar and all its relatives, including high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses, sugar cane crystals, pure sugar cane juice, evaporated cane juice, dried cane juice, maltodextrin, and all products ending in ‘-ose’ (such as sucrose, dextrose, fructose and levulose)
artificial sweeteners, including aspartame, sucralose or Splenda, and sugar alcohols (such as maltitol, mannitol, sorbitol and xylitol)
refined carbohydrates, including white rice and products made from white flour
gluten, found in wheat, rye, barley and all their products (including bread, pasta, crackers), also found in many ‘low-carb’ products (such as packaged cereals, macaroni cheese, pizza dough mix, spaghetti, shells, tortillas, pancake/waffle mixes and biscuits) and in vegetable proteins, modified food starch, some soy sauces and distilled vinegars
soya protein isolates, found in low-carb ‘energy’ bars and soya protein powders, and processed soya foods (such as soya milk, soya cheese, soya ice cream, soya hot dogs and soya burgers)
alcohol; over-the-counter drugs; and caffeine, including coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, and chocolate
mould, found on overly ripe fruit (especially melons, bananas and tropical fruit)
These Detox Detractors either lower enzyme activity during phases 1 and 2 detox, interrupting the liver’s efforts to transform toxins into non-toxic metabolites, or are linked to a decreased absorption of necessary detox nutrients. Therefore you must avoid them during the seven days before your fast, or you’ll start your fast with an increased toxic load. Given this extra burden, your liver will be slowed down in its efforts to metabolize fat and detoxify your body, which will both impede your weight-loss efforts and leave you feeling sluggish, weak and low on energy.
